Xornet E-learning System (XES)
Xornet's E-learning System (XES) will significantly improve knowledge transfer and
management within the enterprise, resulting in increased corporate productivity. 49 percent of employees are either "poor"
or "very poor" at transferring knowledge to other employees. XES is specifically designed to aggregate enterprise knowledge
and transfer it efficiently and effectively throughout the enterprise, picking up where traditional corporate knowledge-transfer
solutions have failed.
The concept of delivering workers "just in time" online knowledge and training
at the desktop becomes a realty with XES.

FEATURES
Multi Delivery Format:
Hosted
In the Hosted Delivery Format XES applications will be hosted and
maintained on Xornet's servers outside the corporate firewall. In this
delivery option XES solutions will be provided on a per user and per
curriculum model. Other hosting options are available as well.
Appliance Model
Xornet offers an XES appliance delivery format. The XES appliance is a
totally integrated hardware-software solution. In this delivery option
the XES device may be housed, behind the corporate firewall, hosted in
the Xornet data center facility, or in a third party data center
facility. Several appliance models are available. XES appliances are
scalable in that a farm of XES appliance can be maintained allowing for
loads to be shared across devices.

Browser Based
XES and XES solution are accessible and maintained via web browser interfaces. No client software installation is required.
Web based Course Administration
XES's web-based backend allows your personnel to maintain the XES
application. An easy to navigate back-end interface eliminates the need
to know any type of programming language, allowing for quick and easy
changes. This puts you in control of your custom XES product solution.
Seamless Data Integration
XES applications seamlessly gather and store user data into an
integrated object store. User data can be viewed, edited and deleted
via the web-based backend. XES applications effectively operate on user
data for powerful processing and meaningful personalized presentation
of information and feedback. Customized on-line reports may also be
created or data can be exported off-line for more intense data mining
type applications.
Data Backup
XES generates a daily backup of all XES data and content (html, images,
video, etc.). Two backup files are created, a data file and a content
file. The backup files file may be downloaded from XES via a secure
browser interface or an offsite backup routine may be configured which
will atomically store and archive the data on a remote server. The data
backup file is an encrypted file providing an extra layer of security
for sensitive user data.

Authoring
The XES includes an integrated web based authoring tool for building and maintaining your online curriculum.
Separation of Presentation, Logic, and Structure
XES applications offer complete separation of presentation and
functionality allowing for various graphical interfaces and multimedia
designs. This separation of form and function allows course designers
and developers to work independently of one another resulting in faster
time to market of a finished product. XORNET and our Partners will work
closely with your organization to develop creative, intuitive
interfaces for your XES application.
User Enrollment and Log In
XES applications include a customizable user enrollment and User login system.
Reusable Learning Assets
XES curriculums are modular in that learning assets may be easily
changed within a curriculum and shared across curriculums. This allows
for maximum reuse of learning content. Learning assets may be comprised
of any browser compatible content, images, text, audio, video(including
flash), documents (html, pdf, word, PowerPoint, etc..)
Template Driven
Curriculum templates allow for standardized "look and feel" to be easily applied and altered throughout a course.
Security
SSL 128 bit encryption has been integrated into the XES. All user and
application data is stored in an object store, which also is secured by
the same high level of encryption.
Customizable
XES is a flexible, modular system designed to conform to an
organization's learning and training processes. Xornet and Our Partners
will work with you to customize an XES solution to meet your current
and future E-Learning Requirements.
Assessment
As well as delivering customizable learning content XES is an excellent
tool for creating and deploying online assessment type content (test,
review questions, exams, etc.).

All assessment data is stored upon user submission.

Mastery levels of assessment content may be set easily via the web based authoring tool.

XES captures all User attempts on assessment content.

Assessment content can be displayed to a user in a variety of
delivery options (radio button, check box, single select list, multiple
select list, input field, and multiple input field) These delivery
option may be changed on the fly via the web based authoring
environment.
Navigation
XES dynamically generates curriculum navigation. The default navigation
can easily be modified via the web based authoring tool. If more
complex navigation logic is required XES allows for custom "navigation
code" to be applied which will extend the built in navigation controls.
This allows for the creation of a highly customizable user experience.
Threaded Discussion Board
Multiple discussion boards with multiple topics per board may be
integrated into any curriculum. Great for group discussion and may also
be used as a web based help desk system and FAQ system.

Reporting
XES provides for default and customizable user reporting of all user
data. User reports (Default and Customized) are accessible via the User
Administration Interface.
Messaging System

Allows for users and system administrator to communicate anonymously via the Learning Management System.

Each User has access to a messaging center with an in box and sent message archive.

Users may send message to individual users, users within their group and system administrates.

System Administers may send messages to all users across course; all
users enrolled a course, users in a selective group, and individual
users.

Users are alerted via e-mail that he/she has received a message with a link to the message.
Group Enrollment

User enrolling into a course may be placed into groups.

The discussion board and messaging system functionality may be
configured to restrict user interaction to group members. Thus creating
a small group environment. Ideally suited when more intimate
communication forums are required.
Instructor-Coaching
XES allows for instructors-Coaches to be assigned to users and groups.
A Coaching Interface allows Instructors to correspond with their
assignee users via the discussion board, messaging system and live help
applications. User reports may also be designed to allow for
Instructor-Student communication via customized reports., This allows
Instructors to leave comments on a user report and also allows a users
to vies and reply to the comments via the same report.

Extensibility
This is a powerful feature, which enables the extension or
customization of advanced sequencing logic. Other default LMS
functionality may also be overridden with this feature if required.
APPENDIX
Delivery Formats
ASP Model:
The ASP model is well suited for course publishers whom are just
getting started and need a more manageable pricing model. In this
delivery model all the features of XES are provided in a hosted
environment. The pricing model is based on simultaneous users as
opposed to registered users. This affords the course publisher to sell
bulk registration and not incur additional cost. The initial limitation
is based on 10 simultaneous users. This is a soft limit so access for
the 11th user and beyond is still granted however additional monthly
fees will be incurred. The price of this delivery format is $1150/month
paid quarterly or $12,000.00 if paid annually.
Appliance Model:
The appliance model is an innovative XES delivery format. It is an
integrated hardware/software solution. In this model a physical device
is licensed which is configured with all the necessary components
required to operate XES. There are no user restrictions the only
limitations are the physical limitation of the device. The XES
appliance may be hosted in Xornet's data center, a third party data
center or behind a corporate firewall for Intranet connectivity.
The base line appliance (dual Xeon, 2 gig memory) licensing fee is
$30,000.00. A mandatory annual service agreement of 15% the current
comparable XES Licensing price at time of the annual renewal. The
annual service agreement includes, all software upgrades, patches, a
heart beat service which will monitor the appliance, send e-mail
notifications in the event of system malfunctions and other unusual
system events. All hardware comes with a three-year warrantee. There
are no other additional annual licensing fees associated with licensing
the XES Appliance.
Co-location fees of XES Appliances hosted in Xornet's data center start
at $300.00/month depending on bandwidth needs and XES Appliance
configurations.
Offsite Backup
Starting at $30.00/month for 500 Megabytes of backup and 250 Megabytes 10 days snapshots (data archives).
